My Favorite Photo & Video Editing Apps
/There are a million different apps out there that you can edit your images & video with. I have tried many of them but always go back to a few favorites. Here is my go-to list!
On My Phone:
VSCO: I love VSCO for quick edits & lovely built-in filters. This is easy & quick to use.
Lightroom Mobile App: The Lightroom app is FREE for anyone to use! I have a set of custom presets to edit in a blink & those live in Lightroom. Interested in a set of presets for flatlays and fabric photos? Let me know in the comments!
In Shot: This is great for getting your video clips ready for things like Reels or IGTV. You can add text, rearrange clips, cut clips into sections, etc.
Cut Story: Basically does all the things In Shot does but Cut Story is an Instagram Family App. It is my conspiracy theory that when I use the IG Family Apps to make edits vs. the other ones that my content performs better. Do I have proof? No. Do other people think this? Possibly. Anyway, Cut Story is good too. I use them both!
On My Computer:
If I have a big photoshoot or am editing video content for anything other than IG Reels, I prefer to do it on my computer.
Adobe Lightroom: Great for quick photo edits (presets again!) and to organize my images.
Adobe Photoshop: This is what I use for nitty-gritty edits or making custom graphics. Photoshop does have a MUCH bigger learning curve than Lightroom & I highly recommend taking a course to learn the software.
iMovie: If you are a Mac user this is a free & easy way to edit video clips. Great if you are uploading content to social media or your YouTube channel.
Adobe Premier Pro: This is the more intense version of iMovie. Better for serious edits. I learned this software in college & have been a big fan. Like Photoshop, I recommend taking a course to make sure you know all the bells & whistles.
Did I miss one? What are your favorite editing apps?
